Deer Creek, Always In My Heart

Out of all the places I have lived, I miss Deer Creek the most.

We moved in 2010 and I have not been able to go back. I tear up just thinking about it. The thought that the beautiful land belongs to someone else just breaks my heart. High gas prices forced us to move closer to work or we would definitely still be living there.

Deer Creek is part of me. I played there with my family when I was little. We had many memorable (and not so memorable, LOL) bonfires there as a teen. My children grew up with the creek right outside their front door. Some of my most favorite memories happened at Deer Creek. It is one place that will always be dear in my heart.

This layout was made using the new Here & Now digital kit by Marisa Lerin with Pixel Scrapper. I love the colors and versatility of this kit. No theme means the sky's the limit for what you can do with it. Check it out.

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting,

Birthday Wishes Digi Kit at Pixel Scrapper

Before I get into my layout share, I just want to apologize for being MIA. I have been sick for the last month and have not created anything at all (maybe that's why I was sick???).  This is the first week I have felt good since December 19th. I have a few mini albums I'm thinking about selling, so I want to video those over the next couple of weeks. We will see if that actually gets done.

So, my layout today uses the new Birthday Wishes digital kit by Sheila Reid at Pixel Scrapper. I very rarely use the kits as a themed kit and this time is no exception. I actually scrapped photos from our 2006 family vacation to Michigan. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see the Mission Point Lighthouse and walk on the peninsula out into Lake Michigan. I walked as far as I could and never reached the end. When I got back, everyone was waiting for me at the car. Oops.

This layout took me about 20 minutes to make. If I had scrapped this traditionally, I'm not sure it would be done yet. I'm so afraid to cut into my papers and then regret it later, that I will ponder over my layout forever before making a commitment. Digi kits give me the freedom to just create.

I encourage you to head over to pixelscrapper.com and try one of the free kits.

Happy Crafting,
Dana

The Winner of $25 Simon Says Stamp Giveaway Is.....

I hope everyone is having a great first day of 2015. I've been sick for the last couple of weeks, so I didn't feel like celebrating last night. Today, my husband decided to take a drive. I have been stuck in the house for the last few days, so it was a welcome escape. We stopped at Michael's on the way home, but it was a bit too much. I was ready to go after about 10 minutes. Yes, that's how bad I feel.

Now, for the winner of my 200,000 blog hit giveaway...DRUM ROLL Please....

Random.org chose:

My fondest holiday memory was always getting together will everyone at my grandma's house. Going with the uncles to cut the tree, helping grandma and the aunt's decorate it. Setting up the train so we could play with it under the tree and drive everyone nuts. The watching grandma play the organ and waiting for the whole family to show up. I miss those days and those people :)

I want to thank everyone who left a comment. There are very touching memories that I hope will bring you peace for a very long time.
I look forward to sharing more projects with you during 2015.
Dan
