Birthday Card for My Favorite "Old Bird"

I finally was able to make my husband's birthday card, but first a little update on the water situation.

We still don't have the pipe fixed, but it's not leaking. The basement has dried up for the most part. I worked for about 4 hours Sunday putting my craft area back together.

OK, on with the card. This card started with a great deal I found on stamps at Joann's Friday night. I purchased $40 worth of stamps for $4. I bought 4 Inkadinkado sets that normally retail for $10. They were marked between $3 and $4 per set, which is still a good deal. When I got up to the register, they all rang up for $.97.  Can't beat that.

This set is called Inkadinkado Bird Assortment. It has all kinds of birds and bird sayings. I saw this one and it reminded me of my husband. I colored the image with my Copic markers. I used my Nestabilities Classic Ovals and Classic Scallop Ovals to die cut the image. Then I inked the edges of the both pieces.

I used a piece of patterned paper and ribbon from my stash. The white and blue paper is from Papertrey Ink. The card base is Stampin' Up cardstock in Chocolate Chip. The ink is Momento Tuxedo Black and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Vintage Photo.

By my husband's reaction to this card, I'm not sure he saw the humor in it. He doesn't do birthdays very well.

Thanks for stopping by,
Dana Desmond
