Found What Little Boy Bunny Was Missing...BUTTONS!

Yesterday, I posted this card. I knew it needed something, but I wasn't sure what exactly.

Behold, along comes Karen from http://littlescrappieces.blogspot.com/ with the answer. She suggested adding three small buttons to the top corner of the card.  So, I got to work and added the buttons...

...but I couldn't stop there. I had to add a few more among the flowers. It's perfect! Thanks Karen.

Little Boy Bunny...Needs Something, but I don't know what.

Today was such a fun, but exhausting day. I had the privilege of judging our State's FCCLA Star Events. I judged the Chapter Project Display. It was so inspiring to listen to young adults talk about how they made a difference their communities.

For today's card, I used a CC Design Digi Image on this card. I colored it with Copic markers and added it to my card.

All the papers are from my scrapbox. I added a grouping of flowers to the front of the card.

I really think this card needs something else, but I can decide what. maybe a bow or some sparkle. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge

This week's sketch can be found at http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/.

With the big snow we had yesterday, I've been dreaming of planting my garden this spring. That was the inspiration for this card.

The image stamp is from TPC Studios and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. The papers are from DCWV Autumn stack and Pumpkin Pie cardstock from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Walmart. I used my Nestabilites to cut the oval and scallop oval.

I colored two images of the carrot with my Copic markers. I cut them out and layered them together with a pop dot.

I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink and embossed it using clear embossing powder. Then punched it out with my 1" punch.

I haven't posted much lately. Mostly because I've been trying to do more scrapbooking. I'm not really a scrapbooker, simply because I need more practice. I had such a hard time with the notion I had to scrapbook in chronological order (and I have 20 years worth of photos to scrapbook) that I just had a block on what to do.

Finally, I decided to just pick out pictures I like and wanted to preserve. Then the ideas just seemed to flow. I will post some of my pages later. Maybe I can get some good advice from all you scrapbookers out there. Until then...

Beautiful Handmade Roses.

While watching youtube, I ran across a video by Kimberly, the Sentimental Crafter. She came up with a way to make the beautiful Prima-style roses using her Gypsy. I loved it so much, I thought I would give it a try. (Click here for Kimberly's Video)

Kimberly used an image from Mother's Day Bouquet, but I don't have that cartridge. I really couldn't find an image on my limited supply of cartridges, so I welded together 5 egg images from the Create-a-Critter and a circle from Plantin Schoolbook. I cut out five of these, layered them together and followed the rest of Kimberly's instructions.  I even experimented with making rose buds.

I love how they turned out. I saved this file on my Gypsy so I can make more.

For this card, I made two roses, one slightly smaller than the other. I added glitter to them for a little extra sparkle. I used to make jewelry, so I have a huge stash of beads that aren't being used. I decided to find a way to use them in my paper crafting. Gluing them on just didn't look right, so I strung them together using embroidery floss and stitched them to the from of the card. I love how they turned out.

The bird image is from Stampin' Up's Sale-a-bration catalogue. I stamped the image on white cardstock, added color with my Copic Markers (BG10 and BG11), and cut it out. I covered the entire image with Versamark Dazzle and embossed with clear embossing powder. I popped this up on the front of the card.

Other materials used:
Patterned Paper: DCWV
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink

Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge - Challenge 12

Here's another Peachy Keen Stamps LFIF challenge. This week the objective is to create a project that includes Peachy Keen Stamps faces AND a handmade flower.

The vine and butterfly stamp is a set I just bought. It's called Beauty Stems from Here, from the TCP Studios. I embossed the vine in green and colored the inside of the leaves with my Copic Markers, YG13 and YG17. Then I added pink brads.

I used the dragonfly image from Doodlecharms. I cut it at 3" and 2". I stamped each using the Everyday Face Assortment. I love all the sizes you get in this set.

Since I'm not fortunate enough to have a cartridge with a good flower image that would work for what I needed, I used my Gypsy to weld together five egg images from Create-a-Critter and a circle from Plantin Schoolbook. I cut this in several sizes. I layered them together, added a brad, and fluffed up the petals.
