What a Beautiful Princess

During the blizzard last February, we had quite a bit of time in the house. Although I enjoyed it, Kelli was going a little stir crazy and acting silly. She put this crown on and said, "Take a picture of me." I love how it turned out.

I started with my favorite paper, Mariposa from DCWV.

I used the photo as my inspiration for the colors.

Pink flowers, gems, and silver swirls tie in with the crown.

The quotes on this page are so appropriate for Kelli. She really is a strong, inspiring young woman, who has huge dreams for her future.

My Sweet Ice Cream Face

Here's another page of Kelsey. I used the DCWV Sweet Treats glitter pack.

I wanted to keep this layout very simple. I used my journaling as a frame for this layout. The white gel pen makes me think of melted ice cream all around the page.

I paper pieced the ice cream cones with the patterned paper.

I used brown vinyl Thickers and a white gel pen to make the word "face" mimic the ice cream sandwich Kelsey's holding in the picture.

I love pictures like this. The memories of these unexpected moments are priceless. Scrapbooking allows me to make sure my children will never forget how much joy they have brought me. I can't wait to show my grandchildren someday and tell them all what their mom or dad was like when they were little.

Baby Girl Scrapbook Page

I've been gone for a while, but rest assured, I have been crafting/scrapping. I've been working on mini albums and scrapbook pages lately and haven't created too many cards. I want to share a page I made of my oldest daughter. She's now in college, so that tells you how far behind I am. Luckily, I'm not a chronological scrapper. I scrap photos I love and then put them in order later.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the paper manufacturer, but everything is from my latest LittleRedScrapbook.com kit.

The background paper has stitched flowers and a sequined and ruffled border at the bottom. Just beautiful. I used my Gypsy and Cricut to cut the title.

This big pink flower is from Prima. The other flowers were part of a LittleRedScrapbook.com kit.

The teddy bear charm was made with a Stampin' Up stamp, copic markers and shrink plastic. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up as well. The doilie image was embossed on yellow paper. I made quite a few of these, cut them in half, and placed them all over my page.

I have several mini albums to share, but that's not an easy thing to do with still pictures. I've been thinking about posting videos on youtube.com of my more complex projects. The only camera we have is my daughters Flip. I'm not sure the quality will be good enough. I love watching videos and think it would be fun to share my projects on youtube.com.

Butterflies in a Jar

I haven't had much time lately to do a lot of posting. I went back to college this fall and it's taking up quite a bit of my time (I actually should be studying for my midterms, but hey, you know how that goes).

I have been doing small projects here and there, I just haven't been posting them. So, I wanted to post this quick card I made using the Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge.

Instead of cutting the background layer for the jar out of cardstock, I wanted the blue sky to show through, so I used vellum.

Looking at it now, I should have sponged clouds or something on the blue background to give it more interested so you could tell it is a transparent jar.

Materials

I told you it would be quick and simple. Thanks for stopping by,
