Easter Card Using Copic Coloring

Today I'm sharing my first project using some of the images I colored over the weekend. This digi image is from C.C. Designs Sugarplums series.

All paper and ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper is from the Egg Hunt stack. The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I used my Nestabilites to die cut the image and my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chompers to round the corners.

The image didn't have a design on the eggs, so I drew them in using a black marker.

The markers I used:

Hair - E11, E13, E15
Dress - R20, R32, BG11, BG45, BG49
Skin - E50, E53, R20
Basket - E11, E13, E04
Eggs - V01, V15, V17, Y13, Y15, Y19
Shoes - C3, Black Zig marker
Grass - YG03, YG06, YG09
Background - B0000

Copic Coloring Weekend

I had about 28 markers in my collection. I order 12 more from Ellenhutson.com. a few weeks ago. They came in Friday and I had so much fun, I ordered 10 more Saturday. I realized last night that I'm out of E 50 and Colorless Blender. So, another order is in the works.

I started with images purchased out of the $1.00 basket at Michael's. I stamped the images on Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I practice basic blending techniques and tried my hand at coloring white. I think it turned so well, it may find its way onto an Easter Card. I'll post that when I finish it.

 I moved on to images from Stampin' Up's Flowers for All Seasons stamp set. I got this set free a couple of weeks ago during the Sale-abration. If you aren't familiar with Sale-abration, I recommend contacting a Stampin' Up demonstrator (I can hook you up if you need one). It's a great way to get free products.

OK, back to the coloring. I thought I would use these images on some kind of a home decor project. Maybe a four-season wall hanging. Again, I'll post that project when I finish it.

Once I got started, I couldn't find enough stamps in my collection suitable for coloring, so I purchased a few digi images from allthatscraps.com.

I love these CC Designs stamps. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 to combine the images of the girls and the stool. This is my first time using digital stamps, I love how versatile they are.

I love to color the hair (could be my Cosmetology background), but I'm pretty limited on my color selection. I started experimenting with different color combinations and I'm pleased with the results so far. I'm not brave enough yet to try black hair, but that's on my list of things to do. I like the red hair the best. I used 4 colors on the little girls hair below, Y15, Y19, YR 65, and R46.

I noticed I have a few places where I colored out of the lines. I plan to fix that when my order of Colorless Blender arrives.

I'm not sure what projects will end up being home for these girls, but I'm having a blast coloring them. I really wish I could take a class and maybe work toward becoming certified. I searched online for a class, but I haven't been able to find one in my area.

Papertrey Ink Card Elements

A few weeks ago, Papertrey Ink provided us crafters with a set of printable tags that were to be used in a project challenge. Unfortunately, the time frame for the challenge was about 1 day, so I wasn't able to participate. But I love the tags, so when I got time, I started playing with them.

Here's a card using one of the tags. I printed two copies of the tag and used clear embossing powder on one of them. Once the tag was cool, I cut out the center sentiment and attached it to the non-embossed tag. I cut around the tag, added pearls and set it aside.

I embossed the top portion of a piece of Ocean Tides card stock from Papertrey Ink.

I added a piece of crocheted lace from my stash. I layered a piece of Aqua Mist Ribbon from Papertrey Ink on top of the lace. I attached all of this on a Aqua Mist card base. I finished off by popping up the sentiment tag.

I've started working with the other tags from this set, so you can expect to see more.

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge #46

I'm back with another Peachy Keen Stamp challenge submission. The sketch for this challenge can be found at http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/.

 All papers are Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper is from the Egg Hunt pack. I used my Gypsy to weld the shadows of the duck and umbrella. I cut this in light blue. I cut the remaining layers, inked the edges using Stampin' Up Classic ink and assembled the focal point.

I used Peachy Keen Critter Faces PK-745 for the duck's face. I used my white Gelly Roll pen to color the eyes and add stitching to the umbrella. I colored the beak with a colored pencil. The raindrops are epoxy stickers I found at Michael's  for $.49.


 

The sentiment is from The Paper Studio-Card Sayings. I used my Spellbinders Labels to cut, emboss and ink the tag. I ran a strip of Papertrey Ink ribbon around the focal point.

This card could be used for so many purposes. It would make a great baby card.
